The System Services review is intended to ensure adequate system services (also referred to as Ancillary Services) are avilable to meet the needs of the electricity system over the coming years as levels of renewable penetration increase.
The TSO's first consultation of this process was published on 13th December 2011. The second consultation was published on EirGrid's website on 12 June 2012 and proposes a range of new System Service products to address and mitigate the identified system issues.
The TSOs have now issued a third consultation paper on system services; this paper deals with the financial aspects of the proposed new services. The consultation paper on the EirGrid website can be found here.
